The EVQ7250-R-00A is an evaluation board designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the MPQ7250-AEC1, a 3-channel, high-side linear LED driver that is ideal for driving LED strings directly from an automotive battery. The device outputs a best-in-class 200mA of current per channel with a unique thermal management design to reduce board temperature. External shunt resistors are leveraged to share output current (IOUT) and dissipate power out of the driver.
Optimized for compact lighting applications, each channel has a dedicated pulse-width modulation (PWM) dimming input pin to support brightness control. Either a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) resistor for LED temperature monitoring or an LED brightness binning resistor can be connected on the same board or off-board.
Advanced diagnostic and fault protection features include LED open, LED short, single LED short (SLS), and thermal shutdown. The device can be configured to operate in one-fails-all-fail or one-fail-others-on modes, and it can indicate any of these fault conditions through its fault indicator output pin.
The MPQ7250-AEC1 requires a minimal number of external components, and is available in a compact QFN-20 (4mmx4mm) package. The MPQ7250-AEC1 is available in AEC-Q100 Grade 1.
