The EV2718A-Q-00A is an evaluation board designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the MP2718A, a highly integrated, 2.5A, switch-mode battery management device for single-cell Li-ion or Li-polymer batteries. The narrow-voltage DC (NVDC) power management structure provides a low-impedance power path that optimizes charging efficiency, reduces battery charging time, and extends battery life during discharging.
The MP2718A supports a termination current down to 10mA and supports On-The-Go (OTG) mode to supply a 5V output from the battery.
With the I2C interface, the MP2718A offers complete operating control of the device, such as the input current (IIN) limit, input voltage (VIN) limit, charge current, battery-full regulation voltage, output voltage (VOTG), and output current (IOTG) in OTG mode. It can also monitor the device’s status and interrupts via the I2C interface.
To guarantee safe operation, the device provides various safety features for battery charging and system operations, including input over-voltage protection (OVP), battery OVP, system OVP, thermal shutdown, a charging safety timer, and a fully customizable JEITA profile with configurable temperature windows and actions.
The MP2718A is available in a QFN-20 (3mmx3mm) package.
