The EVQ2176-RA-6003-00A is an evaluation board designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the MPQ2176-6003-AEC1, a monolithic, step-down switch-mode converter with built-in, internal power MOSFETs.
The MPQ2176-6003-AEC1 achieves up to 6A of output current (IOUT) across a 2.4V to 5.5V input voltage (VIN) range, with excellent load and line regulation. The output voltage (VOUT) can be regulated to as low as 0.4V.
The constant-on-time (COT) control scheme provides fast transient response and eases loop stabilization. By using VIN feed-forward, the MPQ2176-6003-AEC1 maintains a nearly constant switching frequency (fSW) across the entire input and load ranges. Forced continuous conduction mode (FCCM) offers a stable frequency and a lower VOUT ripple.
An open-drain power good (PG) signal indicates the nominal voltage after the soft-start time (tSS) elapses. If the feedback voltage (VFB) is within 96% to 105% of VREF, then PG is pulled high by the external voltage source. If VFB exceeds 112% or drops below 90% of the reference voltage (VREF), then the PG voltage (VPG) is pulled to GND to indicate an output failure.
Fault protections include cycle-by-cycle current limiting, input and output over-voltage protection (OVP), and thermal shutdown.
The EVQ2176-RA-6003-00A is a fully assembled and tested evaluation board. The MPQ2176-6003-AEC1 is available in a small QFN-7 (1.5x2.5mm) package with wettable flanks, and is AEC-Q100 qualified.
